I received my integrated tail light last week and I got to install it on Friday. I must say it was a BREEZE to install it on my 2009 Raider. It was truly PLUG -n- PLAY. I did have to re-route the wires a bit to make it all work but it was not a hard install at all. When finished it looks GREAT!!! The lights are VERY bright and the turn signals look fantastic. The fact that they blink a bit faster is actually good because it makes you more noticeable. I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone who has a Yamaha Raider. Now, I have to eliminate the beaver tail this weekend, but even with just the rear lollipops gone there is such a huge difference. Thank you so much CustomLED for making such a well designed high quality product!!

This is an ultra-high intensity, high-performance Integrated LED Tail Light for the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Yamaha Raider and Raider S with built in non-sequential yellow turn signals (want sequential signals?). This product is a high quality complete plug and play unit with clear lens and OEM connectors (want smoked lens?). This product directly replaces the OEM tail light without any modification necessary. The lens quality is equivalent to the OEM unit it replaces.
The Custom LED 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Yamaha Raider and Raider S Integrated LED Tail Light features black "stealth" electronics and rear lens assembly for a smoked look, without any loss of performance! The lens is optically clear, yet has a smoked appearance compared to standard integrated LED tail lights. This allows for visual appeal of a smoked tail light lens, without sacrificing any performance or safety that smoked tail lights certainly lose.
NEW! The Custom LED 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Yamaha Raider and Raider S Integrated LED Tail Light features the 2nd Generation of our proprietary and patented Blaster-X technology with multiple user-selectable Brake Alert patterns and Strobe Mode! This tail light also features our new Turn Alert turn signal operation. With Turn Alert, the turn signal is significantly more distinguishable than with standard integrated led tail lights.
Brake Alert automatically provides one of 11 user-selectable brake modulations the instant the brakes are applied. This alerts motorists the instant you apply the brakes - possibly saving seconds of reaction time for non alert motorists! The different modulation patterns can be user-selected VIA our new 2nd Generation Programming Interface! It can also be disabled completely if desired, for standard brake light operation.
NEW! Turn Alert is a NEW approach to our integrated LED tail light operation. Typically, and integrated tail light will switch between yellow and red on the side you are indicating a turn. This only creates a color contrast. With Turn Alert, the tail light cycles between full intensity yellow, and OFF, on that side. Therefore, there is a full contrast turn signal operation on that side. The red running light will resume on that side once the turn signal is canceled. If braking and turning, the red will illuminate fully in between blink cycles - because braking should have priority.
Strobe Mode is a feature that puts the taillight into a devastating strobe cycle that is sure to get anyone's attention. This mode produces insanely bright pulses of light at ultra high frequencies, in alternating patterns across the tail light. Strobe mode is engaged by grounding a control wire, and can be engaged at any time.
Blaster-X is our proprietary pulse-width-modulation (PWM) technology that squeezes the maximum possible illumination power out of LEDs. The result is a significantly less expensive, yet even more outstanding and effective product than it's predecessors - and widens our advantage over our competitors. This programming interface is accessed very simply through the Strobe Mode control wire! The interface is designed to receive input simply by providing ground pulses to the strobe mode control wire. No special equipment is necessary to access and utilize the programming interface! Detailed programming instructions will ship with every unit.
NEW! And last but not least, our Sure-Blink Technology. Our Integrated Tail Lights are designed to follow the turn signal commands of the motorcycles flasher relay. This insures it is compatible with all after market and OEM flasher relays - especially programmable relays such as our ELFR-P. However, in the event that the tail light receives a command to turn that does not break (blink) within a preset time period, the tail light will automatically blink that side. This feature is most useful in preventing common no-blink problems that are associated with retrofitting motorcycles to LEDs.
This high performance Integrated tail light utilizes 32 Ultra Bright Red LEDs and 32 Ultra Bright Yellow LEDs - compared to only 16 red LEDs on the stock circuit board! These LEDs effectively handle the functions of: Running Light (red), Brake Light (red) and Turn Signals (amber) - all within the tail light housing!
Just as on the other Custom LED integrated LED tail light models, the system is designed so that the red LEDs turn off (on one side) when the yellow LEDs come on, so that the turn indication is a pure and distinct yellow light. The unit automatically flashes between the red and yellow on the side you're turning! The Yellow LEDs are slightly offset as well, creating a dramatic attention grabbing effect.

NOTE: It is very difficult to properly videotape these high-intensity integrated LED tail lights. We have yet to find a camera that is capable of accurately reproducing the intensity and clarity of our product.
In the video, the pulses in the brake alert feature and strobe mode feature are faster than the cameras frame rate. As a result the video does not show the full intensity and high speed pulses of these features.
Furthermore, the amber LEDs for the turn signals is clearly and distinctly amber in person. For some reason, the amber always shows up as red in the videos.
We are looking for better videos to properly portray our products. If you own a Blaster-X Tail Light and are able to capture accurate video, Custom LED will BUY your video! Please contact us.
The Custom LED 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Yamaha Raider Blaster-X Integrated LED Tail Light Plug-And-Play Complete Unit was designed to function as a direct replacement for the OEM tail light. The unit will install with exactly the same fit and electrical connectors as the OEM unit. No cutting, splicing or modifications what so ever.
There may be additional accessories required to correct blinker problems on your motorcycle if you remove your OEM turn signals. These accessories could not be built into the tail light, and are generally optional and specific to different customers needs, so they are sold separately. Please see the recommended accessories above, and read about the general issues and solutions in our Frequent Questions Page. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Generally speaking, replacing the flasher relay with our ELFR-1 Electronic LED Flasher Relay is the best way to maintain the stock blink rate with LEDs installed (why do I need to do this?). However, the Raider has a self-canceling turn signal feature which will be lost if you replace the stock flasher relay. For those who wish to maintain the self-canceling turn signal feature, you must use the Stage II Load Equalizers to slow down the blink rate. If you are used to canceling your own turn signals, then you should replace the flasher relay with our ELFR-1 QD as this is the correct way to control the blink rate on any motorcycle with LEDs installed. Either way, it is highly recommended that you correct the blink rate on your motorcycle as the fast blink rate is a failure-mode of the stock flasher relay, and the overall turn signal system does not perform as well as a result.
Installation of this product requires that you remove the OEM tail light from the motorcycle, and install this unit in its place. Please consult a qualified technician or your repair manual for the proper procedure to remove the OEM tail light.
Once the OEM tail light is removed from the motorcycle, installation of the Custom LED 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Yamaha Raider Blaster-X Integrated LED Tail Light is detailed in the instructions below.
